Why We Why We Robot Vacuum And Mop (And You Should, Too!)

Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable. They pass our tests on cleaning and can handle various floors. Look for models that allow you to choose from multiple modes, use their charging docks to self-empty and clean the stairs.

A lot of the top models are compatible with your smartphone. Look for an application that lets you save maps, schedules and choose cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos on the market. It uses lidar for navigation, creating maps of floors and rooms.

The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which has linoleum in the kitchen, dining area and bathrooms, as well as carpet in the middle and a large area. It was capable of driving up to walls and even over thresholds that are raised without issue. However, it had some difficulty getting down the stairs in one pass. The S1 performed well in cleaning hard floors. Its mop drove smoothly on its flat side and swung up when it was near carpets or carpets.

The docking station on the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ dependent on how often you use the mop.

The S1 requires regular maintenance, just like other 2-in-1 robots. You'll need to wash out the tank that has been contaminated to avoid it becoming blocked. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheels and sensors regularly to keep them from getting clogged by dust or dirt. However, overall, the S1 is easy to maintain, especially compared to other models which require more effort to maintain.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option to meet your cleaning requirements. Its robot vacuum boasts 8700Pa of suction and comes with many unique features, including full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning that avoids obstacles and cleans furniture. Its mopping capability is remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor as opposed to just dragging the pad across it. Mops can also be cleaned and dried at the base station if required.

The robot comes with an easy-to-use interface that guides you throughout the process. It includes an electric hand vacuum that can be recharged for those hard-to-reach areas that the robot can't reach, as well as two water tanks that are automatically empty and refilled when required. It comes with a range of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does well at vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that effortlessly picks up most debris and even the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are solid as well, though it is sometimes hung in the small area mats or rugs that I have in my home (which is something you can reduce by defining a virtual boundary in the application). Mopping capabilities are very good and include a pair of mop heads that can lift and scrub the floor instead of simply moving the pad across it. The mops are also cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when needed. Mops can also be refilled at the top of the station as required.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their new flagship model is packed with impressive features. It offers outstanding cleaning results and hands-free maintenance which makes it a strong contender for our top mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush will ensure a thorough, customized clean is accomplished.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, it can remove both large and fine debris. It is equally effective on hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently by avoiding pet hairs as well as other mess. The sweeping performance of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush which automatically swings out in order to reach hard-to-reach areas, and mop pads that run along baseboards.

Its navigation is smart that can navigate tight spaces and climbing stairs without skipping a beat. It can move from one room to the next without having to change direction. This is a great feature for homes that have multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance is less advanced than the ones of other competitors and leaves a wide margin between obstacles. This could lead to missed spots.

The interface of the app is simple and well-organized. It should be easy to use for both novices and experienced users. The app allows you to schedule and manage cleanings. You can also adjust suction power, mop setting and look up 3-D and 2-D maps. It can be operated through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri and allows you to monitor its progress from anywhere. You can also remotely control the X40 Ultra camera for real-time monitoring. You'll require a reliable internet connection to use it through the app and external controls.

4.  auto vacuum  are excellent at picking up dirt and debris, but they aren't able to reach all dust. It is important to clean frequently, every week. This is particularly important for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed to do exactly that. It's easy to connect it to your Wi-Fi at home network and works with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more useful addition to your routine of cleaning.

The Q5 is an edgier version of the company's more pricier S-series models, including the flagship Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It is equipped with a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but cuts down on cost by removing mopping functions and using a lower-cost plastic body.

Although it's no longer able to wipe your floors, the Q5 has the best mopping and vacuum performance we've seen from a robot at this price. It features a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an automatic emptying system, so you don't have to manually empty the bin every time. It comes with a smart app that lets you schedule cleaning times and choose the floor type. It also has an automatic water tank filling and washing system that is hands-free.

The mops also stand out, with a 2700Pa capacity to take on pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 is among the few robots we test that didn't have issues with high-pile carpets or area rug, but it was unable to clean up cat litter or cable tangles, which is no surprise given that it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses a unique mapping system that lets it reach tight corners and corners that other vacuums can't. This device also collects dust in a larger dustbin that means you have to empty it less often.  automatic vacuum  has washable filters, which can further cut costs. This robot can detect carpets, and increase suction if necessary. The app allows you to mark off areas that you want it to avoid this is a useful feature.
